Disney hired former Director of iTunes Movies, Kevin Swint, to lead Disney’s SVOD streaming service launching in 2019. Kevin lead iTunes Movies international expansion and iTunes Extras while at Apple. Kevin also lead the Milk Streaming Video and Music product line at Samsung.
In August 2017, Disney announced its plans to launch their SVOD service. As a result Disney will end its distribution agreement with Netflix in 2019.
